Five Valentine’s Day Gifts for Runners

Time is running out if you have other runners in your life that need a Valentine’s Day present! In this post we’ll look at the best gifts to buy for runners, especially if you need to get something to them fast.

Shoes – But do it as a gift card!

Every runner needs shoes, and the runners in your life burn through shoes way more often than they usually admit.

However, when it comes to buying shoes, not any old pair will do. Don’t try to buy your loved one a pair of the shoes that are your favorites. They will surely have requirements of their own. Unless you know their exact size and style, just give them a gift card to the local running store and tell them their next pair is on you. They’ll love it!

Earbuds

Earbuds are expensive, so we recommend reserving this gift for a very special someone. Switching from corded headphones to a nice pair of wireless earbuds is a game changer for any runner. This is especially true if you’re buying for someone that runs in a cold climate – earbuds fit so snugly under a hat!

There are plenty of models out there; Bose, Apple, Beats. But our favorite are

Aftershokz, especially for outdoor runs. They are bone conducting, so they don't sit in your ear. This allows you to still hear other noises, such as cars, in order to stay safe!

Theragun or Motorized Foam Roller

Theragun

has revolutionized the recovery game for runners. These personal massagers can be used individually, just by pointing them at sore areas and letting them vibrate their way to recovery.

If the Theragun itself is a bit too much, there are many other products that have similar advantages. Foam rollers are a must-have for runners, and there are models available that vibrate and pulse while using them to roll out your quads and other problem areas.

Medal and Bib Display

Runners love collecting medals! We all have a box full of them stashed away somewhere. If you have a runner friend that is a little shy about their accomplishments, consider getting them a display rack for their medals.

There are plenty of models out there, we’ve seen some that can be mounted directly on a wall, and also have a section where bibs from each race can be organized and hung as well. Go ahead and give your friend a nudge towards proudly displaying their accomplishments!

Race Entry – For Both of You!

Running can be a lonely sport sometimes. It will mean the world to your runner friend or family member if you sign up for a race together. Pick a 5k or a half marathon that you’ve always wanted to try, and buy the entry for both of you. The gift of time, spending time together on an activity that you love and have in common, can be a great expression of friendship.
